This fetish necklace was carved in the 1970s by related members of the Livingston and Yazzie families. Their work was often sold as being by a Zuni artist named Tony Lualla - which was not the case of course - in fact there is no one at Zuni by that name. Their work is beautiful nonetheless and stands on its own merits. A few members of the family are carving fetishes, but to my knowledge they have not made fetish necklaces in a couple of decades. Four graduated strands, the longest of which is 30 inches.$800 and that includes a pair of earrings with three animals on each. |

Lena Boone walked into our Santa Fe store a week or so ago and wandered over to the wall case where this necklace hangs. She looked at it for awhile and then asked to see it. Cradling it in her hands, she looked up and smiled, "I made this!". Made about 1980. SOLD |
